I'm a Japanese cuisine connuisieur per se, and absolutely love Mochizuki - I tried it for the first time recently after a couple of friends came over from Japan and told me about a restaurant that they were recommended to try. We were not disappointed! Fish was freshly imported - atmosphere was very modern, and the service was stellar. Will try to be back at least once a month.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants in Toronto. I am a frequent visitor and am never disappointed with their food or service. I feel this restaurant takes their craft very seriously. The owners are friendly, and the waitstaff are very respectful and courteous. The sushi is indeed very fresh, and for some reason tastes better here than anywhere else I've been to in Toronto. I highly recommend this place; for the quality of service and food you get here, I think the prices are very fair. I would move in if I could.

i visited mochizuki this afternoon, as i was determined to sit at the rotating sushi bar. there was nothing average about this place. the food, regardless of whether you picked it off of the conveyor, or if you ordered from the menu, was extremely fresh. i would say the freshest cross section of sushi i've had in canada. (meaning items were not frozen) the service was very prompt and courteous, far from overbearing or phoney. the prices were not out of line either, in fact mirror some restaurants that only wish they could provide the atmosphere, quality and service of mochizushi. i've enjoyed many japanese restaurants in north america, and this would rank as one of the most memorable. i will return again. kevin

Sadly we must disagree with most of the reviewers, at least wrt the food quality, which we would rate as completely mediocre. We went partly for the kaiten sushi bar, as there aren't many around, but it wasn't working when we arrived (Sat. lunch), so there didn't seem to be any point of sitting at the bar. Once two sets of diners sat at the bar, they did turn it on, but the pickings were slim. Having both lived in Japan, our standards are high, but in a city with so many alternatives we don't think this spot warrants the glowing reviews it's received. We won't be returning.

The rotating sushi bar is a must-try for any avid sushi lover. Service was a bit "relaxed" at times, so expect to be dining for a good few hours. Makimono rolls were great, especially the spider rolls. Overall, a great experience!

Brilliant concept of rotating sushi bar. See it before you pick it. Price is reasonable. Food presentation is excellant. A must for Japanese food lover.
