Cost Per Person $14 Tags: Drunken Noodle

The soup I tried set a high standard for what was to follow, galangal in coconut cream with a tiger shrimp option added ($5.95) that rang up wonderful notes. It was hot, spicy and creamy with four large shrimp, beautifully moist, dredged from the bottom. Galangal, a gingery spice native to Java, chimed in sharply and there was lemon grass, Kaffir lime leaves, an armada of mushrooms floating on top, coconut milk and coriander working some magic together.

Their pad thai is definitely very original(authentic). No ketchup or sambal oelek but lots of tamarind sauce and the usual (beans sprout, lime wedge, peanuts comes with it). I really like the variety of the Thai dishes that they offer, while you are there you should definitely try some other delicious dishes such as Steamed Seafood (very traditinal steamed of seafood and veggie, basil in coconut milk and curry paste). This dish is full of spices and very delicious and I haven't really been able to find it at other places. Also, try the basil stir-fried or the Fried Garlic w/ meats (for most of their dishes you can choose the kind of meats you want in it: veg, beef, chicken, seafood, shrimp, tiger shrimp, fish). They also make really authentic curries, their panaeng curry is to die for.

This place is owned by a really nice lady from Thailand and her chef is also Thai. 95% of the menu are Thai dishes. They are offering the authentic taste of Thai cuisine, that's their goal I believe. Anyway, you should definitely try their curry especially the Panaeng Curry which goes very well with beef. Also, the appetizer platters and mango salad is also very eye-pleasing and yummy. Pad Thai is also very good. If you are very into Thai food, then you should definitely check this place out for the dishes that you can't find easily in T.O. e.g. steamed seafood in curry and coconut milk. Their selection of the noodles and stir-fried is also very big and I'm sure you'll find something you'll love, my favourites are the spicy basil stir-fried and the drunk noodle.
